Over the past two years, the PAFSM has been the sole or major sponsor of two orphanages in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, responsible for the continued care and support of over 55 children from the poorest regions of the country - 20 of whom are living with HIV/AIDS.
In this time, we have provided over 3 tonnes of rice and other foodstuffs, clothing, medicines, educational materials, toys, games, and improvements to the orphanages. We have also taken the children on numerous daytrips throughout Phnom Penh and its surrounding areas, including to Wat Phnom, Phnom Tamao Wildlife Sanctuary, Phnom Penh Water Park, Takeo Lake, Phnom Chisor temple, and Boeng Kak Lake.
In October 2008, the Peace and Freedom Student Movement announced the launch of its Cambodia Orphanage Project - a commitment to construct and maintain an orphanage in the northern provinces of Cambodia, with the aim of extending social welfare services to rural areas.
