Translink GO Card
Catching public transport? Have you got your go card?
TransLink’s go card is the quicker and easier way for you to travel on public transport. go card fares are about 30 per cent cheaper than the cost of a single paper ticket.
Simply touch your go card on at the beginning and touch off at the end of your journey across all TransLink bus, train and ferry services. The correct fare is automatically deducted from your go card balance.
Which go card is right for you?
Full-time students who attend a university, institute of TAFE or other approved tertiary institution located in Queensland are eligible for a Concession go card. Students must hold a current and valid photo identification card marked ‘full-time’ with the QR logo or a Tertiary Transport Card.
Note: check the expiry date on your go card to ensure it matches the date on your student ID. You can update the expiry date on your go card at selected retailers where you can top up your go card.
Where to buy a go card?
There are hundreds of places you can buy a go card including:
- online at www.translink.com.au
- over the phone on 13 12 30; or
- at all manned train stations, selected newsagents and 7-Eleven stores.

How to top up your go card?
- Set up auto top-up and the balance of your go card will be automatically topped up to a pre-set amount once it reaches $5.
- At selected go card retailers, on fare machines at selected busway and QR stations, online at www.translink.com.au or over the phone on 13 12 30.
