Sporting Events
The Bond University Student Association in conjunction with the various sporting clubs and Faculty Student Associations hosts a number of sporting events throughout the year. They range from the tribal North vs. South AFL, to Business vs. Law Rugby, which is steeped in tradition. Whatever takes your fancy, there is sure to be something that caters to you!
Business vs. Law Rugby
Business vs. Law Rugby is the biggest and most exciting interfaculty competition on campus. Each semester, the Law Students’ Association (LSA) goes up against the Business Students’ Association (BSA) for the glory of taking out the series.
It is held on Thursday of Week 9 of every semester and features a history of rivalry that stretches back to the inception of the University. Business vs. Law Rugby is one event you do not want to miss – either as a spectator or as a player.
If you are interested in playing for your respective Faculty, please get in contact with your relevant Faculty Student Association’s (FSA) Competitions Director or with the President of the Rugby Club.
North vs. South AFL
The game what our Southern cousins refer to as the ‘true Australian football’ brings with it a fanaticism bordering on terrifying. The boys from the South still retain the glory, but increasingly the rest of Australia has been giving South a run for their money.
North vs. South AFL is held every semester. If you are interested in playing North vs. South AFL, please get in contact with the President of the AFL Club.
