QUEENSLANDRHODES SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2009
We have been advised by the Honorary Secretary of the Queensland Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee that applications will close on 1 September 2008 for the 2009 Rhodes scholarship tenable at the University of Oxford.

2009 Fulbright Queensland Scholarship

Applications close 31 Augusrt 2008. Scholarship open to Australian residents of Queensland to undertake 8-12 months of study or research in the US.

An information seminar on the scholarship will take place at Bond University on 31 July, at 1:00pm, in BLD06_4_11, Case Study 1, Level 4 of the university centre, ONLY IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT INTEREST AT BOND! Those interested can indicate their wish to participate in the seminar by phoning 3365 1318.

The 2008 Yearbook needs submissions of pictures of you and your friends at all your favourite Bond events.

Please collect as may photos as you can and submit them on a CD to Carley Sear in the Student Council office.

Get your name up in lights and support a great cause!

 

Full Support Films, a Bond University Film and Television team are pitching their film to raise funds for production on Tuesday 8th July.

The film “Let go” is about a single mother who has breast cancer, how she copes with the illness and her fears in telling her eight year old daughter.

Come along to lend your support and see how the film idea was developed.

A Special Guest Speaker will be lending their support to give some insights into the illness.

The event is FREE but…if you want to take in all the action, make a donation of $5 or more and get your name in the film credits!!! 

All donations of $2 or more will be eligible to win a prize on the day.

LAST CHANCE: Donations can be made UNDER THE ARCH TODAY or come to the event!

'DRESS FOR LESS' - Monday Week 9, 4.00-5.00pm at Don's Tavern

Want to know how to wear the new season’s guys and girls fashions on a budget?
Hear top shelf advice from Vanessa Kellett an award winning young Australian Designer and stylist at ‘Dress for Less’, a National Breast Cancer Foundation fundraiser held at Don’s on Monday of Week 9 at 4pm.

Amazing prizes have been donated for the event including a $100 voucher from Champagne Doll, a Bose head set valued at $180, a $100 voucher from Bardot and a $100 voucher from Surfers Rowers and dinner prizes from many places in Market Square. Raffle tickets will be sold on the day so make sure you come down and show your support.

The first 30 people to arrive will also receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

It is predicted that 14,818 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, up from 5,318 in 1983. And guys are at risk too, Breast Cancer causes death in approximately 30 Australian men each year.
