Bond University’s Clubs & Societies
Becoming involved in a club or society at Bond is a great way to become involved in university life and extend your experience at university far beyond the confines of your degree. It is a great way to meet new people and to get involved. Bond has over 60 active clubs and societies operating throughout the university and considering the relatively small size of the student population, our extensive list of clubs and societies is a great reflection of the depth of student life here at Bond.
Each semester BUSA organises a Club Sign-On Day which is held on the Friday of Week 1. Club SignOn Day is a great way to register and become involved in the various clubs around campus.
Starting a Club
For anyone wanting to start a club the best way to start is by consulting your Clubs and Societies Director on BUSA. It is actually very easy to start up a new club at Bond and your BUSA will be more than happy to support your efforts. Please feel free to stop by the BUSA office and ask for a Clubs & Societies Handbook which will run you through all the necessary steps involved in starting up a new club. Alternatively, for Cultural Clubs, email Jimmy HvD (

Funding Our Clubs
Each semester clubs and societies can apply to receive funding for the events and activities they are planning to hold throughout the semester. This money is allocated from the current semester’s student activities membership payments (hence why it is so important to pay your fee each semester!). It is BUSA’s responsibility to support our clubs and we are more than happy to help out, however the funding process can only be conducted at the beginning of each semester so be careful to watch for the advertisements so that you don’t miss out!
Club Events
Clubs and societies run numerous events and activities each semester. These events are generally open to the entire student population and will always offer substantial discounts and incentives for those students who have paid their semestral activities fees. Clubs organise activities ranging from party nights, pub crawls, dinners, camping trips, retreats, prayer sessions, comedy nights, plays, forums, charity events and of course LOADS of BBQs!
If your club would like to hold an event please grab a copy of the Student Council ‘Event Guide’. This will run you through all the messy forms and formalities and make your event run smoothly. If you would like an Event Guide feel free to stop into the BUSA Office or email the appropriate Clubs and Societies Director.
BUSA can also help you promote and prepare for your events. There is a professional printer available in the office along with heaps of valuable experience and that can be dispensed upon your request (conditions apply).
